We are proud to announce our 5 years strategic plan that was developed over the course of a year in partnership with the board of directors, Latinx Bioethics grassroots coalition members, and community members. Over the next five years, Prospera Institute will expand its organizational capacity and scale existing programs. The expansion will focus on securing financial resources, implementing and evaluating program strategies, and forging meaningful partnerships that support meeting the organization's core functions. These strategic priorities capture the essence of our future work and will support our goals to engage in movement-building for social change.

Build Organizational and Programmatic Capacity

Prospera will expand its start-up operations and cultivate a positive organizational culture by building robust operational systems, increasing and supporting its diverse team, scaling its programmatic impact, fostering relationships with community partners, and securing the financial resources to sustain early-stage programs and organizational growth.

Empower Latino Communities Through Education and Engagement

Prospera will expand startup programs and community engagement initiatives focused on Latinx health equity by creating platforms for dialogue and collaboration, engaging in collaborative learning, and identifying emerging ethical and moral concerns within the Latinx community.

Advocate for Social Action Solutions that Promote Health Equity

Prospera will champion and support social action initiatives that directly address health inequities within Latinx communities. By collaborating with minority-serving organizations, multi-disciplinary public health professionals, ethicists, creatives, and community leaders, we will co-create evidence-based programs and inform policy solutions that tackle specific health disparities, empower community health outcomes, and catalyze lasting positive change.

Over the past five years, we've built a strong foundation for social change by restructuring our mission, vision, operational systems, and grassroots programs. Now, we aim to make Prospera Institute a leader in the health equity landscape by addressing the ethical and moral challenges faced by Latinx communities. To achieve this, we seek partners who share our passion for health equity.

Realizing our five-year vision requires significant investment in our organization. We invite mission-aligned partnerships, philanthropic support, public-private partnerships, and deep community engagement that unlock the resources and expertise necessary to create lasting change.

Measuring Success

We have developed a framework for measuring Prospera Institute's nonprofit success over the next five years. We'll combine metrics based on the National Council of Nonprofit Standards, W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s evaluation standards, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to help us assess the organization's impact and success in fulfilling its mission and vision.
